A Natural Progression

For over a decade Twelve Stones Ministries has been helping individuals, families, pastors, and leaders through intensive counseling retreats. Our mission is to return soul care to the church and our goal is to provide transformative counsel in a compassionate community that balances grace and truth. Although caring for leaders has always been a part of the vision of Twelve Stones, the board decided in 2015 to dedicate one of our beautiful retreat homes specifically to helping pastors and their families.

  • Side By Side

We believe that struggles should be shared not hidden. Therefore, we require those coming for help to bring an advocate (a concerned friend, family member, lay counselor, or church leader)  who will provide support through the counseling process and encouragement and accountability upon returning to their community.

  • Responsibilities of being an advocate

PRAYER: Prayer leads us to rely on God for openness, wisdom, clarity, and lasting change as we seek to bring help to others.

INSIGHT: We value the input the body of Christ brings to the counseling experience, and invite advocates to share those insights as well as questions during our time together in counseling.

NOTE-TAKING: Good notes provide tangible reminders of core issues addressed, important principles, and scripture references to be meditated on in the months following.

FOLLOW-UP: We encourage advocates to commit to six months of intentional follow-up to review the Twelve Stones summary and action plan. This will provide them with additional guidance and direction as they both apply the truths learned and insights gained while at Twelve Stones.
